We have updated our General Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy to bring them in line with the fake watches EU General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR which came into effect on 25th May 2018. One of the main intentions behind the regulation is to create a level of trust that is needed for a single digital economy to develop across the EU’s internal market.

Personal data entered on the database is either supplied directly by the user or by the insurance broker and entered on the system by The Plantfiles team on their behalf. The personal data can be edited / deleted by the user at any time by simply logging onto their account on

Data submitted by the Insurance broker/s to the Plantfiles for processing is done so through PKware secure and encrytpted coding software.

PLEASE NOTE – This system is primarily for the use by insurers and their clients of registered P&E. It is a business to business portal to help both parties produce clear and unambiguous insured inventory files. We adopt a data minimisation policy which means we only collect data for specific, explicitly stated and legitimate purposes. As we process data that has been pseudonymised- through being key-coded encrypted or anonymised to a good standard, we therefore do not fall within the scope of the new GDPR. However, all other users who fall outside this spectrum will be protected under the new GDPR.

1 – Lawfulness

  1. The legal basis for collecting personal data is to link you, the owner of the registered plant & equipment to the asset inventory.
    In the case where the insurance broker supplies the information, then the file is linked to the insurance policy that covers the listed registered insured assets. The main purpose of the latter is to clearly identify what is and isn’t covered by the policy and to protect both the insurer and the insured.

  2. By registering an asset, you give consent to us to process your data.

1 – Individual Rights
The new GDPR adds a new layer of protection for individuals namely:

  1. The Right to be INFORMED. You are entitled to know exactly what will happen to your data upon being processed.
